Worried Your Site's Cut Wrong? Levelled Right, Once.

Some blokes rip in, get the levels out, leave your ground churned and your budget blown. I read the fall first, cut it clean, and hand back a site that sits right.

The Work Speaks Before I Do

What We Do

I don't just shift dirt. I set levels that hold, so everything built on top sits true.

There's a difference between moving dirt and reading ground. Bulk earthworks, site cut and fill, footing and service trenching, driveway and pathway cuts, slab prep, sandstone block walls. I do it clean and I do it once. No half-finished corners, no levels that need chasing later. The excavator does what the eye plans, and the plan comes first, every time.

The finish you quietly want

You want to stand on your block and see it sitting flat and true, ready for the footings, the slab, the driveway, whatever comes next. No soft spots. No water pooling where it shouldn't. Batters that hold and a cut that lines up with the plans. That's the quiet win. Ground that just works, so the next bloke on site has nothing to complain about.

Work that stays put

I cut levels for caravan spaces at Belrose, spread and compacted the gravel, and laid two metre sandstone retaining walls that are still standing straight. I've worked heritage school sites with reputable builders, hammering out sandstone from inside a listed structure without touching the heritage fabric. That's the standard. Ground and walls that outlast the job and never call you back.

How I Work

Work With The Land, Not Against It

Careless operators dig blind, get the fall wrong, and leave you a churned mess and a blown budget. I read the ground first, then cut it to sit right.

STEP 01

Read The Ground

Before a bucket moves I walk the block, check the fall, the soil, the access. I plan the cut around what the land already wants to do.

STEP 02

Cut It Clean, Once

Right gear hired for the job, levels checked as I go, fill compacted properly. No nonsense, no shortcuts. Efficient means it saves you money without losing quality.

STEP 03

Sits Like It Belongs

You get a site that's flat, true and ready. Batters that hold, driveways that drain, ground that looks like it was always meant to be there.

Common Questions

The Stuff Blokes Ask Before They Book

You don't own your own gear, so how does that work?

Once I've quoted your job and know exactly what it needs, I hire the right machine for it. That means you get the correct gear for your ground, not whatever's sitting in a yard. No paying for oversized machines, no making do with the wrong tool.

Do you take on small residential jobs?

My focus is full earthworks packages on larger rural blocks, driveway cuts, footings, trenching, slab prep and sandstone walls. Small quick jobs with a bit of dirt aren't really my patch, but have a yarn and I'll tell you straight if I'm the right fit.

How do I know the levels will be right?

I read the fall before I cut, check levels as I go, and compact fill properly so nothing settles later. That's the whole point of doing it once. You get ground that sits true and ready for what's built on top of it.

Can you handle tricky or steep access?

Yeah. I've cut a steep driveway at Mona Vale, cleared overgrown bushland and shaped it, and done a small pool dig with tight back-garden access. I plan the approach around the site so the job gets done without wrecking the ground around it.

Sam
About Samex

Hey, I'm Sam

I've spent three years running earthworks and the last six on my own gate as Samex Civil Excavation. I've worked bulk digs, cut levels for caravan spaces at Belrose, laid two metre sandstone retaining walls, and done civil work on heritage school sites alongside reputable builders like Grindley.

I take pride in every job and I deliver exactly what the client wants. My no nonsense attitude keeps things efficient, which saves you money without cutting corners on quality. If the levels aren't right, nothing built on top will be, and I don't hand back work I wouldn't stand on myself.

If you've got a rural block, a driveway, footings or a full earthworks package coming up around Brisbane, have a yarn with me. I'll come have a proper look and tell you straight what it needs.
