Pools are great when the kids are young and everyone's using them. But things change. The kids grow up. Life gets busier. The pool gets used less and maintained less. Before long, you're looking at a big, expensive hole in the backyard that you barely use.Sometimes you don't need another pool renovation. You just need your backyard back.

Fill this in and Sam calls you back himself, not a call centre.
A pool removal that lasts is the part no one sees. Anyone can knock the top off and shovel rubble in. We strip the shell, export the material offsite when it needs to go, and bring in fresh compatible fill compacted in layers. Then it gets ground tested to sign off. That is the difference between a lawn that holds and a lawn that quietly sinks in three winters.
Picture the corner where the pool used to be. No more green water, no more rusting ladder, no more fence you keep meaning to fix. Instead there is level, solid ground. Room for a garden bed, a lawn the grandkids can run on, a spot for the shed you always wanted. Quiet, useful, yours again. That is the result we are actually building toward.
Done properly, you should not be able to tell a pool was ever there. The fill sits flush, the compaction holds, the grass grows even. In a season it reads as though the yard was always this way. That is the mark of the work. Not a scar in the ground, not a low spot after rain, just clean, honest ground that belongs where it sits.
You tell us what you want from the space, we work out how to get there, then take care of the demolition, backfilling and finishing.
You tell us what you want the backyard to look like when we're finished. We look at the pool, access, levels and surrounding ground, then work out the best way to get there.
We break down the pool, remove the material that needs to go and clear the site properly. Whether it's a full removal or partial demolition, we leave the area ready for the next stage.
We backfill and compact the pool cavity, then bring the area back to the required levels. The end result is usable ground, ready for whatever you want to do next.
Full removal means we demolish the whole shell and export every bit of material offsite, then bring in fresh fill. Partial means we knock the top down and use the clean broken concrete and brick as backfill. Both get compacted in layers. Full is cleaner for future building, partial saves money. I will tell you honestly which suits your block.
Not when it is done properly. The reason filled pools sink is someone tipped rubble in and drove off without compacting. We bring the fill up in layers, compact each layer, and get it ground tested to sign off. That is what stops the slow sink you see years later on cheap jobs.
Yes, that is the whole point. Once the ground is compacted and signed off you get back usable space. A lawn, a garden bed, room for a shed. If you plan to build a structure there later, tell me up front so we spec the fill and compaction to suit.
Yes. We assess the access and what's around the pool before we start, then plan the job around existing fences, gardens, retaining walls and other structures where possible. We'll talk you through any areas that may need to be removed or protected before work begins, so there are no surprises along the way.
I run Samex Civil out of Brisbane. Three years on my own now, but plenty more in the seat, from steep driveway cuts in Mona Vale to bulk earthworks inside a heritage listed school with a crane loading material out. I take pride in every job and I deliver what the customer actually wants.
My thing is a no nonsense attitude. That saves you money without cutting the quality. I do not pad the job, I do not disappear, and I do not leave you with ground that sinks later. When I sign off a pool fill, it is signed off for good.
If you have an old pool that is an eyesore and you want your yard back, have a yarn with me. I will come look at it properly, give you a fixed price, and tell you straight whether full or partial removal is the right call for your place.
